Dr. Claudia Ingham, Senior Instructor II in Animal and Rangeland Sciences, saw her year-long efforts in planning an interactive arts-focused exhibit about the world’s rangelands come to fruition when this stunning trifold was displayed in Withycombe Hall in March and the 4th Floor Rotunda of Valley Library in April. Ingham and Sage Rosenthal, Animal Sciences Honors College student, also hosted a film festival celebrating the diverse pastoralists and their landscapes in April.
Rosenthal will collaborate with faculty at Beaverton High School in the Fall of 2026 to share this with her alma mater and focus on models of teaching using various media, including art, as she develops her Honors College thesis.
Additionally, numerous OSU faculty are collaborating with researchers, ranchers and community centers to share the message of the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists. Dr. Mounir Louhaichi of ICARDA’s Cactus Network shared his work with a Corvallis audience in February and continues to collaborate with Dr. Serkan Ates, also of Animal and Rangeland Sciences.
Dr. Trace Martyn, of OSU’s EOANRP in La Grande, is also conducting outreach events and has located exhibits in Burns and the Sage Center in Boardman through coordination with the Pacific Northwest Section of the Society for Range Management.
Look for the IYRP arts-focused exhibit at the Grants Pass Museum of Art in August and September 2026 when it travels with OSU Art About Agriculture.
